Function of external scarfing holder:
1. Provide stable support to resist cutting force: the scarfing holder shall have sufficient strength and rigidity to send the blade to the pipe surface. In the process of scarfing, the blade will be subjected to a considerable reverse force. The holder must stably "hold" this force, without shaking or deformation, to ensure the even scraping depth and smooth surface.
2. Precise positioning and installation: one end of the holder is usually designed with a specific clamping structure (such as a spring chuck or screw fixing groove) to firmly clamp different specifications of scraping blades. The other end of the holder is installed on the tool holder of the equipment. It serves as a standard "interface" allowing the blade to be accurately adjusted directly below the weld burrs.
3. Vibration-absorbing and stable cutting: High-speed pipes and intermittent welds will produce vibration. A well-designed cutter bar with its own quality and shape helps absorb some harmful vibrations, preventing the blade from chipping or rippling due to high frequency shaking, thereby improving the quality of the scrapped surface.
