Function of horizontal roll shaft
1. Drive and traction: the horizontal roll shaft is one of the main power sources of the whole production line. The lower horizontal roll shaft is usually driven by an electric motor. The roll is driven by rotation, and the steel belt is pulled continuously through each forming frame like a train wheel.
2. Vertical bend forming: this is its core responsibility. The roll mounted on the horizontal roll shaft is engraved with a specific hole pattern (i.e. roll gap). When the steel strip passes between the upper and lower horizontal rollers, the strong rolling force will force the steel strip to bend and deform in the vertical direction. As the steel strip passes through multiple horizontal roller frames in turn, the bending is gradually accumulated, and finally the straight steel strip is rolled into an open billet.
3. Precise adjustment: To adapt to pipes of different specifications or adjust welding pressure, the upper horizontal roller shaft is usually equipped with an adjustment device, which can move up and down to precisely control the gap between the upper and lower rollers (i.e. roller gap) and the pressure on the tube blank.
Function of vertical roll shaft
1. Guide and centering: this is the most basic function of vertical roll shaft. It ensures that the pipe blank bent by the flat roll always moves forward stably along the center line of the production line to prevent deviation and prepare for the subsequent welding process.
2. Transition forming and auxiliary bending: between two adjacent flat roller frames, the deformation of the tube blank is "discontinuous". The role of vertical roller shaft is to slightly extrude and shape the side wall of the tube blank in this transition section, assist it to gradually complete the circumferential closing, and at the same time overcome the edge rebound after the flat roll forming, to ensure the uniformity of opening.
3. Rebound suppression and accurate positioning: the billet just coming out from the flat roller will have a certain elastic rebound. The vertical roller shaft can apply pressure from both sides to force the pipe blank to maintain the required shape and opening size, to ensure the butt joint accuracy of the pipe blank edge before entering the next flat roller rack, which is very important to ensure the high-frequency welding quality.
