Function of ferrite core
● Direct and concentrate the magnetic field to increase efficiency
During high-frequency welding, the induction coil will generate an alternating magnetic field by applying high-frequency current. The ferrite core is placed inside the coil or in a specific position, just like a directional channel for the "highway" of the magnetic field, which can guide the original scattered magnetic field and concentrate it to the weld area to be heated (such as the "V" mouth at the edge of the steel pipe), so that the energy can be dispensed accurately and the heating is fast.
● Improve power factor, save energy and reduce consumption
Without the ferrite core, the magnetic field generated by the coil will be lost greatly, the electric energy will be wasted seriously, and the "power factor" of the equipment is very low. The magnetic field is effectively utilized and the power factor is significantly improved by adding the ferrite core with high permeability, which means that the same welding temperature can be achieved with less electrical energy, energy saving and load reduction of power supply.
● Shield the magnetic field to protect equipment and personnel
High-frequency magnetic fields radiate around, may interfere with surrounding electronic equipment and even affect operators. The ferrite core can restrain the magnetic field and limit it in the welding area, playing the role of magnetic shielding and improving the safety of the working environment.
● Improve heating uniformity and weld quality
By accurately controlling the magnetic field distribution, the ferrite core can make the edges on both sides of the weld seam uniformly and quickly heated to the molten state, and perfectly combined under the action of the extrusion roller. This helps to produce uniform, strong, and aesthetic welds, reducing defects such as cold solder joints and overburns.
