Impeder

Operating principle: high-frequency current has "skin effect" and "proximity effect". An impeder device "blocks" or "increases" the reactance of an ineffective loop by its high permeability material, usually a ferrite core. Visually, it sets a "magnetic barrier" for the high-frequency current inside the steel pipe, and the forcing current can only go through the only channel designed by us - V-shaped opening.

Composition

Ferrite core: It is the core of the magnetic barrier.

Cooling system: the magnetic core itself will generate heat due to eddy current and hysteresis loss, so the whole impedance device usually needs water cooling.

HOUSING/SUPPORT: normally insulated, heat-resistant material used to support the core and ensure its centering position within the steel pipe.

Installation position: it must be accurately installed inside the steel pipe, facing the back of the welding point (extrusion roller center), and close to the inner wall of the tube blank.

Type selection and maintenance: select the size and ferrite core characteristics of the impeder device according to the steel pipe material, wall thickness, diameter and welding frequency. Sufficient cooling is required during operation, and the ferrite core shall be checked regularly for crack or damage caused by overheating or collision. Once damaged, it shall be replaced immediately
