Function of the fiber glass
Mechanical protection: prevent the brittle ferrite core from being broken or damaged due to collision, extrusion during installation, operation or moving in the steel pipe.
Insulation isolation: High-strength insulation materials are generally used for the shell to completely electrically isolate the magnetic core from the inner wall of the grounded steel pipe to prevent short circuit of high-frequency current or breakdown of the magnetic core.
Structural support: As a framework, all independent ferrite magnetic rings are connected in series and fixed into a whole to maintain their accurate centering positions in the steel pipes.
Cooling channels: Most housings are internally integrated with a water cooling system. The circulation of cooling water in the shell or in the pipe close to the magnetic core takes away a large amount of heat generated by eddy current and hysteresis loss of the magnetic core, which is the key to the continuous operation of the impedance device.
Size and shape: The shape and diameter of the housing need to accurately match the inside diameter of the steel pipe to minimize obstruction to material flow (e.g. in welded pipe making lines) and maintain optimum magnetic circuit.
